Can it trace a wire that has 12v on it? Trying to find where a wire that has 12v on it's disconnected end is getting it's 12v from
So you have a wire with 12 Volts on it right now and you want to find out what circuit feeds that wire?
@@JoesCarSmartsNY Yep, and the installers (nitrous) did not fuse any of the control circuits so pulling fuses is unlikely to find (is difficult to pull fuses in this car.) I want to trace from the end of the wire to where it's getting the 12v. Can't disconnect wire since don't know where it goes.
@NoferTrunions I would disconnect the battery and attach the tester at the nitrous bottle or wherever you have the wire. Then try to trace that wire with the wand to where it goes. It’s best to use this tester on a circuit when it’s off. It will probably damage the tester if it’s used on a live 12V circuit.
@@JoesCarSmartsNY I'm also thinking even if the battery is disconnected (that's a 2 hour job on this car), if the wire had 12v 24/7, the PCM also has that, so the signal injector might possibly hard the PCM.
@NoferTrunions Two hours to disconnect a battery is wild. Sounds like a fully customized car?
Fantastic job
Thanks for video. Curious tho, your were getting a p1800, but the solenoid was good. So, what ultimately was the problem?
My solenoid was bad. The beginning of the video shows how the new solenoid works correctly. The rest of the video teaches you how to test the old solenoid to determine if it’s bad or not.
Short at to the point 10/10 job sir
end result?
Worked perfect.
So if I’m understanding your correctly the white clips things once they come detached you can’t just clip them back in with pliers? You have to replace the whole metal arm? Reason being is I replaced the motor but not the arms The I explained to my dad that the arms can not be broken and when I was screwing the 10 mm bolts down he was supposed to be holding the arm things in place but he pried it apart I KNEW RIGHR AWAY WE WERE SCREWED but he insisted that they can pop back into place well now my wipers don’t work and I explained that that was the reason why and he thinks I’m wrong! I’ve checked the wires and everything even with a multimeter and the only other option is he BROKE IT!
@@areamer1 I’ve never tried to clip them back together because when mine have failed those white clips have broken into a couple pieces. If your clips are not actually broken you can try to clip them back on, but I’m suspicious that the clips were brittle already and maybe it wasn’t really Dads fault they broke.
@@JoesCarSmartsNY Thank you for the fast response! 1 did pop off only because he was holding it steady with a crow bar and it popped it up but it only popped the top of it off so it appeared he was able to "pop" it back on but when everything was put back into place the wipers wont move but you can hear the motor moving so I know that works. before we changed the motor we were hearing unseen noises loud and no movement would come to the wipers so I knew the motor was blew so now there is no noise with the new motor and the wipers are not moving along the window
Without seeing it in person this is a tough diagnosis. You might have the motor misaligned with the arms. Or the arms may be disconnected at the motor now.
How to remove the cover
La pantalla del 2015 es la misma que la 2012 tiene la misma caída gracias
Just did my rear coils and shocks, front coil/shock, tierods and sway bar links on both sides. 100% listen to this man and cut off those sway bar links. I wasted an hour and took 1 nut off. I found it was easy to cut the lower sway bar link after removing the outer tie rod. My driver side camber bolts were rusted together and i was spinning the NUT AND BOLT. I needed to hit it with a blowtorch and break it forwards and reverse with a breaker bar.. My Hercules 1/2 " impact with 22mm couldn't break it. I successfully did my front and rear end today and got an alignment! Thanks man what a great video!
Oh btw, the estimate for the rear shocks and coils was $2.5k and the estimate for the front shock/coil tierod and swaybarlinks was 3.5k I bought all the tools i'll ever need for $800 I bought $1k in parts. As long as someone like this makes a video I won't take my vehicles to an auto shop.
@NicolasIchihara Those quotes are bizarre and probably close to the vans value. WOW.
@@JoesCarSmartsNY yeah I live in a weird place. I stay in an apartment adjacent to a private golf course and surrounded by mansions. Other shops were about half the price. I got my 2013 sienna for 10k last year.
Thank you so much for this video! It was worth the 3 hours. (i had trouble with some clips)
Thanks!
@@darrellfaison7778 I’m glad this helped you!
Question??? Dose it matter what type of coolant we could put in these car??? Cuz I have a 2012 Chrysler 200lx 2.4 engine and it over heat just a lil over the middle fan work good thermostat is works good no leaks but I did notice it haves green coolant...... Would that be the reason??
Why don’t you show how you actually did it those two wires did you collect it together and then put it in there in the groove and then tighten the bolt so they’re on the same thing
I explained it exactly as it’s done. Those two wires have ends on them already. The bolt on the new terminal goes through both of the ends and you tighten the bolt to secure them.
What is the Model # of this item?
I’m sorry. I don’t know. When I need parts for things like this I send the manufacturer a picture and they help me identify the model.
I have 2016 chrysler 200 2.4L 161000 km. sometime in low rpm my car 5th gear jerk & shift shock im from dubai please advise i need to replace transmission fluid or something else?
Just did this on my '13 CRV. I filled as much as I could, massaged the upper/lower hoses and topped off. Everyone says once I start the car with heater on max temp and fans, the coolant level will be sucked down. Mine slowly raised and made a mess. After cleaning the mess on the ground and down the back of my radiator and all over my fan assembly, I turned off the car, put the cap on, and drove the car for a while and the heat eventually returned. I will check the level tomorrow.
Do you have a number. Or website I got a picture with a question ?
Of course it's a T55. Why wouldn't it be. Hex bolts have failed huminity time and again but thank the lord for torx!
Thank you sir!
Great job catching the angles and inside the housing. 👍🏽
Why you didn't show how you changed the negative terminal?? That's the part I'm stuck on.
Do you have the old terminal off?
fantastic video thanks
Was going crazy looking for that dip stick. So how do I check the level?
You can buy the dipstick on Amazon if you want to. Or you can be precise measuring what fluid comes out and replacing exact amount after.
Thank you so much! I’ve had this issue for years, and have tried multiple fixes. I’m going to give this a try ASAP
Thanks for showing these straight forward steps. I've had 3 Samsung firdges over the past years and everyone of them needed an ice maker replacement of some kind. Mine has the new setup where the top assembly comes out separately so it makes it a bit easier to pull out, but still a hassle and a sour thing to have to spend over a hundred bucks for. You showing how to release the whole assembly by pushing in with the screwdriver on the side saved me many cuss words and probably breaking something. 😀Thanks!
Do 95 Honda Civics have Electronic Battery Sensors? I have been googling and havent' found anything about this. Scotty said newer cars started to use these. Not sure what he means by newer as in what years? Thanks for any tips!
The 1995 Civic won’t have these. These are a tiny way the EPA has encouraged increased fuel economy. If the alternator is charging at a lower rate, or not at all, it takes less energy from the engine. Therefore it reduces fuel consumption a tiny amount if the alternator is only charging exactly how much is needed at any time.
This was spot on helpful. I used a scope but it wasn't necessary. My son's smaller hand helped.
My wife just had both struts and the Right front CV shaft replaced on her 2014. Now we get lots of vibration under load at 40 and 60mph. Mechanic said the struts are aftermarket and the shaft is OEM. He said maybe the struts are the issue but i cant see that as that are not rotating.
Have you had the transmission software fully updated? There is a TSB for that which sometimes causes vibration, but that’s supposed to be for slower speeds. My dealer checked the rear driveshaft and said the u-joints were binding a bit but that wasn’t our vibration. They told us it was the passenger CV shaft, but it ended up being the driver side CV shaft if I remember correctly. After replacing both front CV shafts our vibration was gone. We changed our rear shaft later as a precaution since the u-joints were binding. New struts should not be causing vibration. Sometimes very badly worn struts can because when the wind under the car takes a bit of pressure off the suspension the springs around the struts can get bouncy because the strut can’t control them anymore.
@@JoesCarSmartsNY We did not get the software updated. The cv boot was torn up, full of dirt, and would click. Now that its been replaced we get all the vibration. It's possible the replacement shaft is faulty. I believe they should be done in pairs so I'll have him do the left side first then drive it. If its still vibrating then he'll make good on the right side.
@dirtycommtroop I understand better now. Looks like you’re on the right track.
Let’s see if your mom can play
How do U think she will do
Hey boy yo good
Thanks bro
Great peice joe 👌🏻
Thanks for sharing this. I too am always learning new things. One thing that I recently learned is to place the transmission in neutral when filling with the new fluid. Super dangerous if your vehicle is not chocked properly
Thank you sir
Where can I purchase the clips? Looks like most of them damage once ripped out.
Honda dealer is the best resource for clips. They can look the car up by VIN and sell you exactly what you need.
Thank you
I read somewhere you're supposed to torque the 3 top nuts down after you put the tire back on the ground.
You can do that if you want. Doesn’t hurt anything.
@@JoesCarSmartsNY I'm about to do this for the first time next week. I read on the forums someone misaligned the top and broke the bolt . Great video! Might be the best of its kind on here.
Misaligning it and breaking it is a big mistake. The three top bolts only go in n correctly one orientation. If they’re crooked and/or forced i into position then they’re wrong and you need to stop and spin the strut mount until the holes line up.
I just remembered. You have to get an alignment after this. I’m not sure what I said on the video, but I didn’t have it aligned and it destroyed my tires. Gotta get an alignment.
@@JoesCarSmartsNY dang, I might as well do the tie rods too! haha Seriously though great video, if only you could teach everyone else how to make mechanic videos! 10/10
Thank you, this video showed me the correct way to take this apart to change my cabin filter. Much appreciated.
Great video straight to the point and good camera work.
Man I'm going in after I eat dinner. This sounds like my problem. Blessings!
Whoa... you already removed the cover for access to the drain plug... I needed that info. I've got mine jacked up and am very ready with everything needed but.... Because, my 2013 CR-V LX AWD with 5 speed transmission ... stiIl couldn't see the access panel... because it was in plain sight... because I was looking way too far back towards the center under the car. I saw the oil change access panel and took it off... I thought that must be it, guess what, no transmission plug there. For those of you who may need to know... this transmission plug access panel is directly in front of the car very front of the cowl. It's easily visible just by looking under the car, no need to crawl under it. Of course you need to get under there to loosen it and all that. It's way in the front part of the cowl. I've done one drain & fill the shaking is 85% better, still a bit at very slow acceleration at about 20 to 30 MPH. The thing was short one quart and it was an ugly brown color. I don't think the last owner ever changed this fluid or may even checked it, and they got their service done at a local Honda dealer too!
The access cover has two Phillips head screws. That’s all that needs to be removed to access the trans drain.
Great camera work. Thanks!
This video actually really helps

Just want to say this is not applicable on my '09 Suburban LTZ. There are only 25 pins on the brown connector, no blue/brown wire, plus I probed the entire brown connector and none of the pins worked.
see I was hesitant to do this but you just gave me the green light 👍🏾 subscribed
Thanks very helpful
Thanks for the info 😊
